Love it, Hate it, Trust it: the European Commission's campaign on Food Safety takes over the BOZAR rooftop
"Europe holds some of the strictest food safety standards, covering everything from additives and packaging to labeling, hygiene, and traceability. But because these systems work, they are practically invisible to us. Most of us never even notice them."
With these remarks, Ioana Voicu, one of the founders of Vanna -a community of creatives in Brussels, co-organisers of the activity- opened the European Union Food Safety's event "Don't Play With Your Food" organised with Chef Lucille Griffon to create a giant edible fresco on the rooftop of the Palais des Beaux-Arts BOZAR. "It’s part installation, part snack, part experiment", stated Ioana.
Designed around the question, "What does food safety really mean, and what can creatives bring to it?", the event offered an innovative way to reflect on the EU's work on food safety—an often invisible task that helps keep us all safe.
Organised within the European Commission’s “Love it, Hate it, Trust it” campaign, the event was open to creatives and creators in Brussels.
This campaign features engaging materials such as guides, informative videos and social media content, outlining the EU's food safety practices, which can be consulted here.
